After getting sugared up, we headed to the Discovery Center here in town. We had never been and had been given a gift card to use there before we moved. It actually was pretty cool and Riley had fun exploring all the different things.
We headed back home for some lunch, presents, and naps. He was pretty excited about his presents--especially his Army men! He told Bret, "I don't have anything like this!" We finished off his birthday with a dinner from Chick-fil-a and a Redbox movie for him to watch. All in all, I think he had a good birthday!
A week later we headed back home to Kansas for Thanksgiving and threw in a party for Riley while we were there. He was so excited to show all his cousins how big he was! =) He was definitely spoiled and it was fun to see him be so excited about ALL of his presents--dinosaurs, hockey set, cars, more army men, tractors and a bike!
We finished off the evening with cake and ice cream. He wanted a red monster cake and has been talking about it for AT LEAST 6 months! Good thing for Pintrest so I didn't have to come up with a design off the top of my head! I thought it turned out super cute and he loved it! It's nice to be able to live up to their expectations when it comes to birthday cakes! =)
So, now he gets to tell everbody that he's 4 and he's pretty proud of that!
